We organise the Sheriff's Ride, the perambulation of the boundary of the old City and County of Lichfield in accordance with the 1553 Charter from Queen Mary, as both an equestrian and cycling event.
Through the Ride, we promote and support the office of the Sheriff of Lichfield and its associated traditions, helping to preserve this historic civic custom for current and future generations.

The ride in numbers
The 2026 Sheriff's Ride takes place on Saturday 5 September. Riders follow a dedicated cycling route of approximately 35 miles, starting and finishing at Stowe Field in Lichfield.
